About the Drink
Classic Cola is an own brand supermarket cola by Sainsburys in the UK. The drink was launched in 1994 to compete with Coca Cola and Pepsi and in the first few weeks achieved a market share of 13%. This led Coca Cola to file legal proceedings against Sainsburys claiming the labelling was too similar. Classic Cola now has a much smaller market share but is continued to be sold.
