Last May, The Guardian wrote a story about taste testing various Independent and Craft colas. (you can read the article here). Whilst i applaud them for bringing attention to alternative brands of fizzy drinks it was disappointing to see such low scores given. Unfortunately it was not made clear if this was a blind taste test (it has been constantly shown that people “like” what they are familiar with).
Another disappointing point is that Fritz Kola (which only scores 4/10 on their test compared to over 9/10 on our site) is actually targeted at adults and so is purposely made less sweet. Seeing as nearly half of their testing audience was made up of children this might explain the low score.
