Sarsaparilla, for those of you who dont know is a perennial trailing vine with prickly stems that is native to Central America that is used as the basis for a soft drink sold for its taste, frequently of the same name, or called Sasparilla. It is also a primary ingredient in old fashioned root beer,A lighter version of the Main Root Root Beer, this represents a great classic sarsaparilla.
From maineroot.com:
Our sodas were founded on the idea of providing the best tasting and environmentally responsible product we could make. While working as a waiter at the all natural and organic Flatbread Pizza Co, in Portland Maine, Maine Root Founder Matthew Seiler was inspired to make a change. After serving so many bad Root Beers, he set out to create an alternative. Using the restaurant as the testing ground, Maine Root was created. At first it was served exclusively at the restaurant, then throughout Portland, then throughout Maine. Now Maine Root is enjoyed as far south as Texas! Last year, we sold more Root Beer than Coke at Flatbread, Co.! See for yourself why.
I had one yesterday and I have to say it was delicous. Would love to know where to buy some. I could become an addict
