Zevia’s Ginger Root Beer is a surprisingly rich and flavorful “diet” elixir with notes of wintergreen and cassia.
Zevia has been championing the use of the Stevia herb for sweetening purposes for years. In fact, they believed in it so much that they managed to market their stevia-sweetened soda even before the FDA approved the herb’s use as a sweetener in 2008. (They were forced to label it as a “dietary supplement” in order to make it legal, which largely limited them to health food stores). When the FDA OK’d stevia, Zevia was ready and raring to go. They created new flavors (and reformulated their old ones), made new logo designs, and started gaining more and more mainstream fans.
